Living word for 15-April-2024. Scripture says, “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

The scripture teaches us today in 2Timothy 2:19-21 that, “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm,” So for starters we understand that God has a foundation and its not any foundation, its a solid foundation that stands firm and not shakeable. It adds, “sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” Did you catch that, the Lord, knows those who are his so it also means the Lord knows those who aren’t his. Those that are the Lords are those that accepted Jesus as their Lord and savior and are obedient doers of his word. The inscription on the Lords foundation is that he has a system for detecting and knowing those who are his, no wonder satans rebellion was detected and he was cast down from heaven with his accomplises and business went on as usual.

So you cannot fool God that you are his, God knows your heart condition and can detect and know those that are his. It adds and says, and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” So on top of knowing those that are his, everyone who confesses the name of the Lord, this is the process of how we become the Lord’s. This person must turn away from wickedness, notice it say “must” meaning there is no other way around it, wickedness shouldn’t be your portion. Whenever you see or notice wickedness as a must you should turn away to another opposite direction.

It adds, “In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay;” He takes it deeper and says in a large house, this could be a church, a business, a home, there are different articles who are a shadow of people, there are different kinds of people based on importance and value. There is gold, silver, wood and clay, so which kind of article are you in your church or your home or the workplace? All of them are articles but their value is different, this is why it adds and says, “some are for special purposes and some for common use.” Some are for special purposes and others for common use, some serve important purposes and others common purposes. This is why we need to refine ourselves to be valuable to benefit the kingdom of God.

It ends by saying, “Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.” So those who are the Lords and are articles for special use have to go through a cleansing process. Through this process they are made holy amd useful to the master prepared to do any good work. You will notice that the cleansing is done by yourself, you make the decision not to practice wickedness and as you do this you become an instrument for special purpose.

Fellow child of God, what kind of article are you? Are you gold, silver, wood or clay? God requires us to serve his purposes thus we need to cleanse ourselves from wickedness so we become ready for the masters use and also do good works.

Be blessed
