Living word for 25-May-2024. Scripture says, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

*2corinthians 5:20 teaches and says, “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God.”* I like the simplicity of the bible, its we who want to interpret it in different ways. Like todays scripture starts by saying, *”we are therefore Christ’s ambassadors.”* Here in lies the assignment of believers, we are ambassadors, not of countries but of Christ. To understand this better lets first understand who an ambassador is.

*An ambassador is “An official messenger and representative or a corporate representative, often the public face of the company or country or kingdom.”* So as believers we are the official messengers or representatives of Jesus Christ here on earth. *We are the official face of a kingdom called “heaven”* So when people see you they are supposed to see a picture of heaven, talk about being in the world but not of the world. Our assignment therefore is to try as much as possible to do what Christ would have done in the same situation. To talk about the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God and represent it in all spheres here on earth where God has placed us.

Like Peter we are to make disciples of men, to preach the word of God both in season and out of season. To make Jesus manifest everywhere on this planet called earth, that’s the assignment of the believer. It adds and says, *”as though God were making his appeal through us.”* This means God wants to speak to the world through you and me, we need to study the word of God and share it with others as much as possible. We are vessels unto honor for God to use to make the world know more about Him. We are to make the appeal of God on this earth, no wonder Jesus came saying, repent for the kingdom of God is at hand, thats an appeal that stretches to even us today.

It even defines it better saying, *”We implore you on Christ’s behalf: be reconciled to God.”* In other words on behalf of Jesus Christ, we are pleading, begging and imploring with mankind to be reconciled unto God. To be reconciled means to come back to the original positional relationship with God as a kingdom of priests and not a kingdom of priests. We are to implore people to repent from evil by teaching them to do what is right and Godly. So let me ask, are you reconciled with God, this is why we are to repent for the forgiveness of sins. Repentance is the beginning of the process of reconciliation with God.

*Fellow child of God, let today’s scripture be an eye opener for you and me. Lets wake up to this reality and realise that as believers we are ambassadors of Christ here on earth. We need to edify as many people as possible and let them know about Jesus Christ, that they should be reconciled unto God and come back to the first love.*
