Living word for 23-May-2024. Scripture says, “Just as dawn was breaking, Jesus stood on the shore. The disciples didn’t realize it was Jesus. Jesus asked them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, do you?” They answered him, “No.” He told them, “Throw the net on the right hand side of the boat, and you’ll catch some.” So they threw it out and were unable to haul it in because it was so full of fish.”

*The scripture teaches today saying in John 21:4-6 that, “Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus.”* Prior to this verse, Jesus had been crucified a also rose from the dead. Peter leading some of the disciples, they decide to go and fish, they toil all night and now morning as approaching. Jesus in his majesty stands at the shore but most of them didnt recorgnize him. This is the problem many of us face even todate, we are unable to recorgnize the presence of Jesus in and around us.

*It adds and says, “He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered.”* They had toiled all night to get fish but they were unsuccessful. Jesus asks them and they reply confessing not to have any. They were unsuccessful because they had been assigned to be fishers of men and not fishers of fish. They had been given a new mandate but they had returned to their old profession. *It adds and says, He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”* Jesus, having pitty on their labor in vain tells them to cast their net on the right side of the boat assuring them that they will find some. The onus was now on them as to whether to obey what he said or not. Your next miracle is always hinged on your obedience to Gods instruction.

They had a choice to either cast on the right side or not, God will always give you the power to choose and not force anything on you. Scripture says God sets before us a blessing and a curse, good and evil and we have to choose for ourselves. The same tree in the garden had both good and evil fruits so we have to wisely opt for the good. This is what the disciples did and the scripture adds and says, *”When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.”* It was such a big cash that they couldnt even pull the net back into the boat. Scripture confirms an number of 153 fish and although they were so many the net was not torn, what a miraculous catch.

*Fellow child of God, lets learn from todays scripture to be obedient to Gods instructions and also not waver from what God assigned us to do. Your next miracle is hinged on your next step of obedience, the quicker you obey, the quicker your miracle.*
